Why William Morris ?

Inspiration for Morris Dry Gin

william morris_edited.jpg

William Morris was a pioneering architect, designer, poet, and co-founder of the Arts and Crafts Movement in 19th-century England. Beginning in 1888, he designed a hunting lodge for John Oakley Maund in the so-called Anglo-Scottish "Cottage Style" in the Alps. These extraordinary buildings, constructed exclusively by local master craftsmen, can be found in Weggis by Lake Lucerne, as well as in Schoppernau in the Bregenz Forest and in the Arlberg region.

In his honor, the label of our Morris Dry Gin features a tribute to his art. The design is inspired by the famous velvet print "The Strawberry Thief," which Morris created in his workshops in the 19th century. True to his exceptional style, the label is printed on high-quality velvet paper, giving the gin a unique and noble appearance.

Our very first production of a London Dry Gin won several international awards and in all subsequent years our quality has been recognised time and again.

You can find an overview of the awards we have received here.
